Dave received the teaching excellence award from Niagara College in 1997. He has been teaching at Niagara College since 1990.

The Youth at R.A.F.T Resourse Association For Teens
Dave is working with the Youth at R.A.F.T Resourse Association For Teens in St.Catharines. Dave is teaching the Youth about the responsibility of dog ownership including the physical & emotional needs of the canine, as well as the importance of proper humane obedience training to ensure that dogs will live a Healthy,Happy & Safe Life!  The Youth are integrated into the grooming & training of the dogs, this tactile involvement with the dogs builds  self confidence and knowledge in the youth.

Dave hosted (Dog Talk) on C.J.R.N. 710 AM radio in 1991 – 1992. This was an informative phone in show.
Dave produced and hosted “Dog Talk” on C.H.O.W. 1470 AM radio in 1992 – 1994. This was a popular radio talk show.
Dave was a frequent guest on the Tim Dennis Show, C.K.T.B. 610 AM radio in 1994-1998. He provided advice on dog care and training to phone in callers.

Television

Featured on CITY TV’s Breakfast Television show where he demonstrated obedience routines with his dogs.
Produced and hosted a 15 part mini series on Rogers Cable 10 in Stoney Creek, Ontario, called “Training the Family Dog” in 1992.
Appeared for 10 weeks on CHCH TV Hamilton, Ontario, as an expert dog trainer.
Many guest appearances on the television show, “Daytime”, a local cable television show in Niagara Falls, Ontario.
Guest speaker at the Toronto Sportsman Show in 2002. Dave performed training drill demonstrations with one of his K-9 Security Classes and lectured on the use of dogs in the security industry in Ontario.

Dave provides training classes for security companies that are licenced to use dogs in their operations. Handlers and dogs are trained in obstacle work, narcotic detection, bomb detection, man – tracking, obedience, protection, patrol and alarm response, building searches.

Therapy Dog Visitation and Testing

Dave evaluates dogs for therapy work and volunteers with his human and canine students to visit at Shaver Hospital, Dorchester Manor, Linhaven Retirement Home, Sunset Haven Home for the Aged, and Niagara Falls General Hospital.
